StandardAero is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its appointment by GE Aviation as a T700 Authorized Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Provider.
The announcement will be celebrated at this year’s Army Aviation Association of America Summit, set to take place April 25th through the 27th (Booth #547). The approval extended StandardAero’s (formerly Vector Aerospace – Helicopters Services North America) now 19-year association with GE on the T700 family, which is supported from the company’s facility in Richmond, BC, Canada.
StandardAero is the first company appointed as a T700 AMROP, with the authorization adding to the company’s existing GE license for repair and overhaul of the T700, as well as its U.S. Army and U.S. Navy source approvals for the engine.
StandardAero has recently received Technical Assistance Agreement approval from the U.S. Department of State, per section 124.1 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The approval authorizes the company to support the T700 within the enhanced list of countries specified under its AMROP approval. Over 30 countries are included in this approval including the US, Canada, Argentina, Australia, and so on.

StandardAero has been an overhaul facility for the GE T58 and CT58 engine family since 1976, and has been licensed to provide MRO services on the T700 and CT7 since 1999. The operation supports military, governmental and civilian operators across the globe. To date, GE has delivered over 20,000 T700/CT7 engines, with the global fleet logging in excess of 100 million flight hours.
StandardAero’s close relationship with GE Aviation extends to repair support of the T700/T6A1 turboshaft powering the Royal Canadian Air Force’s CH-149 Cormorant search and rescue helicopter fleet, as well as assembly, inspection and test of the CT7-8A7 engines powering the RCAF’s new Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclone shipborne maritime helicopters. StandardAero has been the sole repair and overhaul provider for the CH-149’s powerplant since its introduction, having now completed the first fleet-wide campaign of T700/T6A1 life limited part replacements, as well as providing on-condition repairs for the engine.
