CHC and Collective Magazine to Support New Scholarship Opportunities for Members of Whirly-Girls International
February 28, 2018 – CHC Group and Collective Magazine today announced that they will each provide a scholarship to a deserving member of Whirly-Girls International for the 2018 CHC Safety and Quality Summit. Two recipients from the organization will join more than 500 professionals at one of the aviation industry’s premier safety events.
“We appreciate the chance to expose two of our most deserving members to this year’s Summit,” said Joni Schultz, President of Whirly-Girls International. “The importance of safety for everyone who plays a part in our industry cannot be overstated and we are excited to have our members lend their voice and perspective to these important discussions.”
The scholarship package includes the conference attendance fee, flights, accommodations, meals and access to a two-day HFACS course that will be held around the main conference. This year’s summit will explore the theme “Building Safety at Every Level: Does this start at the top or with front-line employees?”
“Collective chose to sponsor this particular opportunity because of our previous work with them and our passion for supporting female aviators,” said Ryan Mason, CEO of Collective Magazine. “After attending the summit myself last year, I knew this was the right fit for us and for the Whirly-Girls that would benefit. I had a chance to speak with two scholarship attendees at last year’s event and it was clear to me how beneficial it was to them, not just in session content, which was fantastic, but also for the opportunities to network and engage with leaders from across the globe.”
The 14th annual summit will once again take place at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, located near Dallas, Texas, and will run from October 2 through October 4. More information can be found at www.chcsafetyqualitysummit.com.
“We are delighted to work with Collective and Whirly-Girls to provide even more access to this year’s Summit,” said Duncan Trapp, Vice President of Safety and Quality at CHC Helicopter. “The success of each of our events relies on the perspectives and experiences of our participants, and we are happy to help offer access to two aviators who might otherwise be unable to attend.”
All active members of Whirly-Girls in good standing at the time of application will be eligible to apply for the scholarship. Application details will be distributed to members in March 2018.
